INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
1.- GENERAL INFORMATION
1.- The XIX World Congress of the Saxophone 2023 is the meeting point for participants from all over the world, both in the form of ACTIVE (performers, professors, speakers, etc) as well as in the mode of LISTENERS (visitors, public).
2.- Participation in the mode ACTIVE in the XIX World Congress of Saxophone 2023 is open to professionals, students, hobbyists, artists of all musical styles, from classical music, jazz, ethnic, contemporary, flamenco, etc and it is only those participants who propose concerts, lectures, masterclasses, etc., to the Congress. If you do not make any proposal for a concert, masterclass or conference during the Congress, you have to register in the form of LISTENER.
3.- Supported applications to a variety of modes of participation (ACTIVE and LISTENER).
4.- Requests are supported to participate in performances with symphony orchestra, wind orchestra, chamber orchestra string ensemble of contemporary music, solo and chamber performances to larger ensembles, for conferences, workshops, lectures, etc, in the form of ACTIVE.
5.- The number of requests to participate in several performances is not limited. To do this you will need to fill in an application form for participation different for each proposal.
6.- The Artistic Committee of the Congress will review all applications submitted and, within the operational possibilities, you will define the place and time in which it will celebrate its proposal for a concert, once accepted by the Artistic Committee.
7.- El Congreso proporciona las agrupaciones musicales para los que se puede solicitar acompañamiento. Se trata de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria Wind Orchestra, Orquesta de cuerda del CSMC, Gran Canaria Contemporanean Ensemble y la WSC Symphony Band.
The number of performers who can be accompanied by these sets is limited.
8.- Taking into account the limited possibilities of acting with orchestras or ensembles of larger size, in the form of a request for such action must be proposed an alternative program.
9.- In the case of a performance with an orchestra, symphonic band, string orchestra, or big band, the performer shall bear the costs of the materials of orchestra, band, big band or ensemble contemporary.
10.- All acts of the Congress will be recorded. The Organizer has the right to dispose of the recordings as needed, and without limitation and without paying any compensation to the performers.
11.- There is the possibility of acting in places and scenarios that are not conventional of the city (open-air stages). If you believe that your programme is suitable for this type of actions, please indicate in the application form. Your proposal will have more chance of being accepted by the artistic committee.
12.- If necessary, the organizer will try to get an artistic collaborator, pianist, as well as other musicians in order to perform the musical proposal. The organizer does not bear the costs of such employment, but it will facilitate the management to the participant upon request.
13.- The organizer shall ensure that you comply with the technical requirements within their possibilities (concert grand, percussion instruments, pa system, projectors, projection screens, etc). If a particular program requires the rental of special equipment and/or the hiring of additional staff, the organizer will propose to the interpreter, according to the specifications obtained, the amount of the financial cost.
14.- All participants in the Congress will be responsible for the care of their instruments and equipment. The organizer will not be responsible of possible damages.
15.- The participants at the Congress of any mode (ACTIVE and LISTENER) must bear personally the costs of travel, accommodation and meals. On the website of the Congress will be offered a list of hotels to facilitate the booking of accommodation for delegates.
16.- Participants LISTENERS who are students of the saxophone, will have to prove your student status by sending a copy of the enrollment of the center where they do your studies (Conservatory, music schools, university, etc.) through the registration form.
17.- All concerts in the programming of the Congress will be free of charge to participants in the form of active and listener, except for the concert Soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium whose entrance can be purchased at the Auditorium box office or through the link and purchase online through the conference website.
18.- To access each of the concerts free of charge (except the concert Soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium) will be required to identify with the credentials of a congressman (identification card that will be delivered at the reception of the Congress).
19.- The participants coming from countries subject to the visa obligation for the Spain must make all the necessary arrangements in advance.
20.- THE ORGANIZER OF THE CONGRESS WILL NOT PAY FEES TO THE PERFORMERS ACTIVE IN THE PROGRAMMING OF CONGRESS
2.- REGISTRATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MODALITY LISTENER IN CONGRESS
Participants LISTENERS Congress must register through the Registration Form (see form).
Once you have completed and submitted the registration form participant Listener the Congress, we will send you an e-mail with your Registration number of participant and the bank account where to make the payment of the fee selected.
The registration to participate as a participant LISTENER will not be valid until payment is done correctly of the registration fee.
3.- REGISTRATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MODE ACTIVE IN THE CONGRESS
The ACTIVE participants in the Congress will have to register through the Registration Form (see form) with your proposed program of a concert, conference, workshop, etc
4.-INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR THE PROGRAM TO PARTICIPATE AS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT
1.- Fill out the application form for participation in the mode ACTIVE in the Congress web page and send it.
2.- Once we have received your request, the organization of the Congress will send the Identification Number of Record and must pay 40,00 EUR in the account of the Organizer. The form of payment will be informed via the email sent by the organization.
3.- The deadline to pay the registration fee (40€) is 15 days from you receive the email from the organization. You can send different musical proposals, conferences, masterclasses, with the same registration number of a participant through the form of request for proposal. The registration fee (40€) is only paid once, regardless of the proposals that you submit to the Congress.
4.- Within the same period of 15 days, you must send the complete documentation requested: justification of the registration fee, a photograph, a brief biography of the artist or group, a list of information about each composer in the proposed program, a brief note about the program, a score of the composition accompanied by an orchestra or band in PDF (if you are proposing a program with groups large – orchestra, band, big band) and, if possible, a link to a recording of the sample in the case of premiere.
4.- After the answer from the organizer, accepting the program sent, the organization of the Congress will send an email to the participant to register through a form developed expecíficamente to do this and make the payment of the appropriate fee according to price of the Congress.
5.- Will not be refunded the amount paid 40€ if your proposal is not accepted by the Artistic Committee, in none of the cases. In this case, you have the right to register for the Congress as a participant LISTENER.
5.- IMPORTANT DATES
01/04/2023: start date of the submission of proposals of programs and registration process for participants and listeners are active.
15/06/2023: deadline for submission of proposals, programs for concerts, conference, workshops, etc
15/07/2023: announcement of the programs accepted.
30/11/2023 deadline for registration of participants listeners
15/06/2023 deadline for the registration of an active participant
30/11/2023 close of entries through the web in the form of listener. Any request after this date will only be possible in situ, during the Congress.
6.- TIME OF ACTION OF THE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS
For active participants to set the maximum time for each action:
1.- Recital: performance solo or with accompaniment by a live, solo performance with electronic equipment, computer performance in a group of chamber (20 minutes maximum)
2.- Interpretation with an ensemble larger (45 minutes maximum)
3.- Presentation (30 minutes maximum)
4.- Masterclass (45 minutes maximum)
