RADEK KNOP

After a brilliant musical studies in Poland and in France (as a pianist, saxophonist and composer) Radek Knop now carries a double career of musician-concert pianist and professor of saxophone. As a soloist, he has performed in several scenarios prestige (Center Schönberg in Vienna, Auditorium of la Pedrera, Barcelona, Palacio deTokio of Paris, etc). Very active and a strong commitment to contemporary creation, it has created the duo Pulsaxion (with percussionist Philippe Spiesser),Syntax / Motus Ensembles, etc Works closely with the composers who have dedicated works to: Philippe Hurel, Christian Lauba, François Rossé, Etienne Rolin, Kazuko Narita, Dieter Kaufmann, Manor Hosseini, Bertrand Dubedout, Elzbieta Sikora, MichelangeloLupone, Daniel Tosi, Pierre Jodlowski, Jose-Manuel Lopez-Lopez, etc, as well As improviser and composer, Radek Knop is open to different musical experiments. PERPIGNAN SAX ENSEMBLE

The Sax Ensemble of the current students of the upper classe international saxophone Radek in Perpignan this year includes 10saxophonists. Each member plays multiple saxophones and repertoires. PROGRAM NOTES

Radek Knop and Perpignan Sax Ensemble invite you to discover and enjoy the music of Jacobter Veldhuis for saxophone with soundtrack and concert videos. The television music of Jacob is heavily inspired by the society and the music american. Some of the pieces written by Jacob for saxophone are inspired by the sound of the saxophone players jazz (Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, Art Pepper, Sonny Rollins, Clarence Cremons, George Adams). His music is often based on spoken sounds original, extracted from interviews with legends of jazz (Charlie Parker, Billie holiday, Chet Baker), but also programs of interviews with americans from the 90's to describe many social situations hard drug addiction and life of the prisoners, speeches of pimps and prostitutes). The Blues of Syracuse, with the exception of the european programme (the fish market in Siracusa, Sicily), is a lament for the seas and oceans poisoned and on exploited of the world. In the program of the Project Monograph of Sax by jacobtv there are pieces for saxophone "only", for quartets or quintets saxophone with saxophone soprano or baritone soloist. All pieces include a soundtrack and video of the concert and will be performed by the Ensemble of Saxophones of Perpignan, fine-tuned as an Octet for Saxophones. We invite you to participate!
